CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

Corporate social responsibility represents a major contribution to the values of Prva banka Crne Gore AD Podgorica-osnovana 1901.godine .

We are known by our support to nationally important projects in health care, culture, sport, to humanitarian projects and to all other projects that make difference to the quality of life in Montenegro.

Below are just few of the projects by which we confirmed our strategic commitment to corporate social responsibility, as we deeply care about the quality of life of our citizens and clients, about the working environment, culture and arts, education, sport, ecology, national and global promotion of Montenegro.

January 2010:  Donation to municipalities affected by flood

Prva banka CG – osnovana 1901 donated 10.000 euro to each of flood affected municipalities of Cetinje i Ulcinj and to city of Podgorica municipality of Golubovci.

December 2009: Donation for the purchase of Braille writer

At the auction of paintings in the shopping mall Delta City in Podgorica, Prva banka made a donation to support the action of TV IN “IN Misija: and thus helped the purchase of the Braille writer - an important tool for education of people with special needs in Montenegro.

November 2009: Donation for reconstruction of the Neonatal Centre in Podgorica

As part of the celebration of its 117 year anniversary Prva banka CG made a 100.000 euro donation for the reconstruction of the Neonatal Centre in Clinical Centre of Podgorica. This was the first renovation after 19 years and the newly renovated Neonatal Centre was declared open on 4 November 2009. Some 470.000 euro were invested and the Centre currently has 28 beds for premature and ill newborn babies. This renovated and modernly equipped Centre is the only one in the country.

October 2009/2008/2007: Donations to newborn babies during the Savings week 

Prva banka traditionally supports the Central Bank‘s annual action on World Thrift Day (31 October).  This year, we donated 200 euro to the savings accounts of all our customers’ babies born during the Savings week in addition to 200 euro donated by the Central Bank.

July 2009/July 2008: Sponsor to the Water Polo Federation of Montenegro

Superb achievement in sport is the best ambassador of Montenegro worldwide. The Water Polo national team rightfully deserved the support of the only national bank having won the gold medal at the European Water Polo Championship in Spain in 2008, fourth place at the Olympics in Beijing (China), where Montenegro took part as independent country for the first time, and after a number of successful matches in the World and European league.

October/November 2008: Children’s savings in Montenegro – a course for future economists

During the Central Bank’s activities for the World Thrift Day (31 October) Prva banka CG took one step further in strengthening the culture of saving and encouraging the values of long term planning. Accordingly, we organised a 15-day educational course – programme called Open web site for future economists lasting 15 days was organised in 17 branch offices for students of 21 gymnasiums and vocational schools - future economists. Along with leaflets about savings, the students were rewarded with basic school supplies.

September, 2008: Madonna’s concert on Jaz beach in Budva

Concert of the global pop diva Madonna was organised by the National Tourist Organisation of Budva, National Tourist Organisation of Montenegro with technical assistance of Prva banka CG.

This was global promotion of tourist offer in Montenegro and of the country itself.

September 2008/ July 2007: Donation – programme of strategic partnership with Tourist organisation of Budva

Public-private partnership of two companies during 2007 and 2008 enhanced the quality and variety of events offered to tourists in Budva as well as activities aiming to promote tourist products of Budva in both Montenegro and abroad.

Jul – August 2008: Donation for theatrical, artistic and musical program of Grad teatar in Budva 

The 22nd festival Grad Theatre city Budva was organised under the brand name Grad teatar city Budva - Prva banka Crne Gore.

A large number of spectators from entire Europe who found artistic and intellectual pleasure in the program and promotion of cultural summer in the context of tourist offer of Budva and Montenegro proved our €100.000 donation was justified.

June 2008/ 2007: Sponsorship to water polo club Budvanska rivijera, Budva

Budva pays special attention to development of supreme water polo and numerous trophies are good evidence for that. Two two-year long sponsorship contracts represented a contribution and support of Prva banka CG to Budva municipality and its economy in development of a strong sport base and the champion Budvanska rivijera that has been strengthening its position in Europe over the years.
Promotion of Montenegro and its Prvi (First)-successful ones is one the principles of our corporate social responsibility.

March – July 2008: Programme of donations for celebration of the Day of Prva banka CG – osnovana 1901, 107 year anniversary

The Bank of closeness – the principle we adhere to was manifested in the programme of donations during a five-month celebration of the Bank Day on 5 March 2008. The Board of Directors and management aimed to recognise and provide support to key national projects in culture and social and humanitarian field in the country and support projects related to regional development.

Two national donations

The ceremony of the shareholders’ assembly in the Splendid hotel in Bečići on 7 March 2008 was marked by signing two protocols for two exceptional national projects in health care and culture of total value of 200.000 euro.

1. Project with the Science Centre within Clinical Centre of Montenegro resulted in a reconstruction of the Neonatal Centre in November 2009
2. Opera Empress of the Balkans by compositor Dionisio de Sarna, based on the play by Montenegrin sovereign Nikola I Petrovic Njegos – Musical Spectacle – First opera in Montenegrin musical heritage and directed by Radmila Vojvodic, was spectacularly opened in Cetinje on the Statehood day (13 July) 2008.

These were two remarkable show-piece projects and we are confident that Montenegro will always be proud of them.

Three regional projects

More than 100 year old banking tradition that Prva banka fosters after having emerged from Nikšićka štedionica 5. marta 1901. godine puts the Bank under repeated obligation  to persist on the way of developing Montenegro, as a modern society of this time with a well balanced regional development.

Signing of the regional donation to the north of Montenegro was held on 14 March in Bijelo Polje. Namely, in a celebration held at the Town hall, we donated a cheque for 10.000 euro to the General Hospital in Bijelo Polje for medical supplies and equipment. Furthermore, we announced we would take part in the purchase of a scanner worth 200.000 euro.

Second regional donation was signed in Niksic on 29 March. 20.000 euro were donated for the reconstruction of a very important monument - King Nikola’s Palace  in Niksic that dates back as far as 1905.

The third regional donation was signed in Ulcinj on 11 April. The Bank donated 20.000 euro to elementary school Bosko Strugar for reconstruction of an old part of the building. The donation made it possible for the school to complete this project and after 50 years complete the necessary reconstruction for the benefit of future student generations.

Finally, a gift of concert of Hari Mata Hari band with Andreja Demirovic, Milena Vucic and Nina Petkovic as opening singers, Prva banka organised within the regional program of celebrating its jubilee in Bijelo Polje, Niksic and Ulcinj.

The biggest prize contest in Montenegrin banking

Within celebration of the Day of Prva banka CG on the slogan Always with our clients, no matter where they are, the Bank promoted the prize contest Save money and win a car or trip to Beijing and launched it on 21 March 2008.

Confidence of our clients that spans several generations was rewarded with a fund of 35.000 euro (a passenger car and 5 10-day trips to the Olympic Games in Beijing) on 13 July 2008. This was the biggest ever prize fund in Montenegrin banking.

May 2008/2007: Donation to the projects of NGO Career Ways – Human Resources concerns

Prva banka has demonstrated that we deeply care about human resources and education so we continued our cooperation with the Career team and decided to become gold sponsors of the 4th fair of human resources Career Ways in 2008 and general sponsor of the 5th fair of human resources Career ways held on 10 May at the Faculty of Economics in Podgorica. The fair was organised with the aim to gather socially responsible organisations that care about human resources, quality of their education and guidance.

April – July 2008: General sponsor of the Olympic caravan 

The support to Montenegrin top athletes at the Olympic Games in Beijing included the general sponsorship of Prva banka CG to Olympic caravan that the National Olympic Committee organised in cooperation with the Athletic federation of Montenegro and host municipalities under gold sponsorship of T-com. The caravan started on 20 April in Cetinje, passed through Bijelo Polje, Mojkovac, Pljevlja, Rozaje, Kolasin, Niksic, Kotor, Tivat, Budvu, Ulcinj, Herceg Novi and Bar before it completed its programme in Podgorica on 13 July.

December 2007: General sponsor of Montenegrin Olympic Committee (26 December)

2008 Olympic year and the first attendance of Montenegro in Olympic Games obliged us to be absolutely dedicated to the preparations for this great sporting event. In order to secure quality prerequisites for the participation of Montenegro in the Games, Prva banka became the general sponsor of Montenegrin Olympic Committee. A 100.000 euro worth contract was just another proof that we want to support our top athletes, provide the best representation of Montenegrin sport achievements in the ultimate sport competition - the Olympic Games.

December 2007: Donation to the Clinical Centre in Podgorica

Opening of the Science Centre within Clinical Centre, 20 December 2007

Donation to the Science Centre of Clinical Centre of Montenegro was made for the 33rd anniversary of the Clinical Centre. ‘Lots of efforts, will and determination were invested in renovation of the Science Centre wishing to improve it, where access to databases would be modern, free, fast and efficient, where everyone would have an equal participation in global sharing of knowledge and in medicinal doctrines, and this is a prerequisite to become a part of that world in the field of medicine. This would not be possible without assistance of relevant parties among whom Prva banka takes an important place’, said doc.dr. Zarko Micovic.

December 2007: Donation to the Outpatients Clinic for 80 year anniversary (19 December)

A jubilee worth of admiration and respect and, accordingly, Prva banka made an important donation for the clinic. We hosted a special celebration in the National Theatre, where we welcomed a number of representatives of local and national government, as well as other local and foreign guests.

March 2007: General sponsor to Montenegro Football national team

Aiming at promotion of Montenegrin sport, representatives of Prva banka Crne Gore and Football Federation of Montenegro signed a contract on 16 March 2007 when the Bank became the general sponsor of the Montenegrin football national team.    By supporting the first national team of the newly independent state of Montenegro, Prva Banka once again contributed to the development of Montenegrin sport.
